I'm going to be a youth pastor. Youth Councils couldn't have been more amazing. (No offense WUM, I like your YCs too) The speaker seemed to have written the material specifically for the event. The praise band was incredible. Eric Himes made us all laugh with his challenges of knowledge followed by challenges of bravery. And Major Andy Miller rocked.
On Saturday night I felt like I was being pulled towards considering the career of a Youth Pastor, shrugging it off as gas I told myself I could be a youth leader and be an author or photographer during the day. On Sunday, Holy Spirit said I needed to go to the alter and lay down my plan for my life and let God lead me. He called me to be a youth pastor. So I went to the mercy seat. In all honesty, had it not been for Major Miller, I don't think I would have gone up there. I would have sat where I was and prayed, instead I went up there, and three or four people laid their hands on me and prayed with me. God is awesome. I feel like I need to go to cosmetology school too, So I can cut hair for kids that need a hair cut, Like the ones that have lice, I want to be able to give them a nice cut so they can be lice free and keep their hair. Or for the kids that simply need a hair cut. I told a few people at youth councils how we're trying to start a daily bible study at school. On Monday morning I woke up and looked at my phone, I had 3 new text messages. They were sent by the guy I'm working with to start this bible study with. He had sent them at 12. They said he had been thinking about the bible study, and he wanted to start this week. The power of prayer is amazing. Please pray for us, pray that the kids that come to our bible study will learn more about God, and grow closer. Pray that I let Holy Spirit show me what classes I need to take and what school(s) I should go to. I'll be praying for you all.
